Beneath the Golden Stillness(art print)

Sumi-e ink and gold leaf
King Pigeon Pose · Eka Pada Rajakapotasana

Canvas, paper and care

The canvas is a poly-cotton blend, hand-stretched over a 1.25 in pine frame with hanging hardware attached. The painting continues around the edges (a mirrored wrap), so the whole image stays on the front.

Framed prints use 189 gsm museum-grade matte paper behind a clear acrylic front, in a solid wood frame 0.75 in deep. Keep both out of direct sun and wipe with a dry cloth.

About the painting

About Beneath the Golden Stillness

A Black woman with natural curly hair holds King Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana) on a quiet field of warm rice paper. A gold leaf sun rests behind her, catching the light against the open space.

Charcoal ink and soft sepia washes trace her curved form, with wet and dry brushstrokes that give the pose a sense of movement and ease. Gold leaf adds a warm glow to the spare composition. This painting suits a meditation corner, a yoga studio, or a quiet bedroom wall where its open space can invite a slower breath.
