Canvas, paper and care

The canvas is a poly-cotton blend, hand-stretched over a 1.25 in pine frame with hanging hardware attached. The painting continues around the edges (a mirrored wrap), so the whole image stays on the front.

Framed prints use 189 gsm museum-grade matte paper behind a clear acrylic front, in a solid wood frame 0.75 in deep. Keep both out of direct sun and wipe with a dry cloth.

About the painting

About Under the First Stars

A serene figure stands on a mountain summit in Upward Salute (Urdhva Hastasana), with feet together and both arms reaching overhead beneath the first stars. Seven soft points of colored light follow the spine, from deep red at the base to violet at the crown.

Deep teal fills the night sky while the glowing chakra colors draw the eye toward the figure. Smooth acrylic layers and fine glaze work create gentle shifts in light, suited to a meditation room, bedroom, or quiet reading corner.
